Brookline NH - Public Works Director

The Town of Brookline is seeking a full-time Public Works Director to perform administrative and professional work associated with the operations and management of the Town's newly created Public Works Department, which includes roads and bridges; solid waste disposal/recycling; maintenance of depart. vehicles/equipment; and buildings and grounds. As the sole member of the department initially, most work will be subcontracted out. During the first year, the director will prepare a 5-year plan for both equipment and staffing of the department.

Activities will be conducted with considerable operational independence. The position reports to the Selectboard.

Minimum qualifications for the position include an Associate's degree, including course work in civil engineering, and at least five years' experience in construction and/or operational public works OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls. Must have or be able to obtain a DOT medical card. CDL license is preferred.

This is an exempt position with a starting pay range of $65,000-$75,000 depending on experience and qualifications. As a full-time position, it is eligible for health, dental, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance and the NH Retirement System.

The Town will require the individual to reside within a 15-minute drive of Brookline.
